Playing a show at Rough Trade in Brooklyn with the great Laura Cantrell.  i will have a band and this is my first show in NYC in over a year.  Laura covered my song “Beg or Borrow Days” on her most recent LP and we will perform it together at this event. See you there!

As I work on my 6th LP, this single is meant to be a little taste of what’s to come. Both songs are a bit different from my usual fare (at least I think so).  What I am learning as I continue to do this music thing is that I really still love writing songs and the challenge of finding new ways to make them come to life.  And then of course sharing them with you!

Listen here.  You can buy the tracks as a pair for $2 or less at these outlets:

Orange Is The New Black / Sideboob

Me and my associates in Adopted Highways (Tim Foljahn and Tom Beaujour) recently had the pleasure of writing and recording some songs for the new season of Orange Is The New Black.  Assistant Warden Joe Caputo has a band called Sideboob and we put the Sideboob tunes to music!  Read about the whole thing here or here.  Listen and/or buy the songs here.

I AM GOING ON TOUR

image

It’s getting close to time!  I have not been on a proper tour with my band since 2009 and this is going to be a great one.  All dates with Tim Foljahn (except for Boston on March 1).  Great local bands on each bill that we have hand selected.  My band will consist of me, Jon Langmead, Michael Brodlieb, Tom Beaujour, Alexa Wilding, and Tim on a few jams.  Alexa will play her own set in Durham and maybe a few other places.  I feel so lucky to be playing with such great musicians and people!  Come see us. It’s going to be really good.  I’m gonna blog the shit out of our adventures so prepare yourself.

From the Vault: New York Times Popcast 2008

Short interview with Ben Sisario for the New York Times Popcast and live acoustic version of “Always In Your Mind” from 2008.  It was recorded at the New York Times offices right before the release of Here With Me. Pretty cool to go there.

Check it out here:

My portion of the podcast begins at 7 minutes.

Buy my new record. It’s good. It will make you happy.

(That furry black rug behind me in the photo is my dog Paco.  He likes to be close to me at all times.)

Follow the pretty links to buy the:

Limited Edition CD (I am hand numbering and hand stamping these - they are being printed right now - real cds, not cdrs!) Only 500 and I’m probably gonna send like 100 to radio and other biz folks, so really only like 400 and I’ve sold 50 already. They will ship out no later than Dec. 19.  You will also get a download code immediately so you can listen on your pod player phone thing in the meantime.

or the:

Bandcamp Digital Album - high quality FLAC files or whatever other file type you desire. For as little as $5.99 or as much as you feel like paying me for my blood sweat and tears.  I’m kidding.

or the

iTunes Digital Album - You’ve heard of iTunes, right?

also it is available for the buying at these fine places:
